Mr. Wing's Portfolio (An example for our students)
This logo image was quickly produced using a copy of the famous Michael Jordan Nike logo, superimposed over the altered Kearny Komet logo. When I first arrived at Kearny in August of 2010, I couldn't find the Komet logo anywhere in the electronic archives, so I took a photo of one I found on on campus and vectorized it in Adobe Illustrator.
After creating the traditional Maroon logo with the 'K' at the center, I decided to add a computer mouse to the center, (along with adding a few extra flames), color it SCT green and use it for the website www.KometArt.Weebly.com, which was my first attempt to use Weebly to create a website for the V.A.D. (Visual Art & Design) class.
As a side note, the vectorized Kearny Komet logo (in maroon), as well as my rendition (in green, with the computer mouse at the center) can be downloaded at a very useful site called, "brandsoftheworld.com." In order to download and use logos from their site, you do have to create an account. here are a few links to the variations of logos i placed on brands of the world:
Maroon "K" Komet -- Green "Mouse" Komet -- Logotype "Komets" with the Mouse and Komet combination as the "o" in Komets -- Kearny SCT logo.
If you Roll over the "Portfolio" tab on this page, you will see additonal samples of logos, illustrations, and Photoshop montages, in addition to designs I'm currently creating on "spec" (many freelance artists create desgins speculatively, and then attempt to sell completed work to potential clients) and plan to use as abject lessons on how to obtain freelance work.
